Beato Sante and Mondavio

Beato Sante belongs to the municipality of Mombaroccio in the province of Pesaro-Urbino. The town is located 393 meters above sea level and in it live 7 people. A small village surrounded by a country scenery and the typical Marche country house. The Convent of Beato Sante, an real treasure chest of art, all surrounded by a striking forest of oaks and chestnuts, was founded by the Franciscans in 1223, when their Father Francis of Assisi was still alive. The last revisions dates back to the end of the 17th century, while the imposing bell tower was built in 1782.

Mondavio is a gorgeous hamlet among the best preserved in the region with not many people living in farmhouse Marche. Situated 280 meters above sea level, it allows a amazing view of the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine mountains. The  “Rocca Roveresca”, built in the late 15th century, is considered by everybody a total masterpiece of Renaissance military architecture. Very impressive is also the Apollo Theater, characterized by floral festoons and a particular ceiling, which has now regained a significant cultural and social role in the community and beyond.
